TAXUS BACCATA - YEW WOOD 
 
Yew is relatively uncommon, and larger tree trunks are usually hollow. so getting wood to make a solid ken and sarado is pretty rare. 
So rare that we believe that this is the only time this is going to be available ever. 

It's orangish brown color is rich and very pleasing to the eye. The color gets darker and is leaning more to a golden tone by playing it. 

It is more like a heavy hardwood than a softwood in terms of its density and how it works. But its tight, fine grain and smooth texture give it a shiny finish.

It's commonly used to make bows, so the wood itself has a little bit of flex. this makes taps really interesting and maybe the best wood for cushion taps on this planet.
